Tokyo Rail Days Trip | Day 4 : Fujiyama & Kawaguchiko

Day four of our Tokyo Rail Days Trip - we're going to visit nothing else but one of the most famous tourist attraction in Japan: Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Fuji!

1. DEPARTURE

We departed from Tokyo Station in the morning with JR Train to Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku Station we will continue the trip by using two different trains - Azusa7 Train to Otsuki Station, then Fujisan Express to Kawaguchi Lake Station.

While my sister went Faux Fur and mom went Dark Fuschia!

I love cable-knit shawl.

This is our Azusa7 train, from the inside.

I always try to buy different flavor of can drinks from the vending machines. This one is a hot milk tea. Japanese vending machines are so convenient I could literally spend all of my coins trying everything inside it!

2. FUJISAN EXPRESS

At Otsuki Station, we change our train to Fujisan Express, the special carriage for tourist who wants to visit both Kawaguchi Lake and Mount Fuji area. It's a cute train with Fujisan emoticons painted on its side, colored in white and blue! The cars in this train are non-reserved, so we have to queue early if we want to get seated or we'll have to stand throughout the trip.

Look at those faces!

Me and the cutest Fujisan smiles.

Ticket-checking time.

Take a window seat so you can enjoy Mount Fuji as the background... it's just too beautiful, esp. on a bright day!l

We passed the famous Fujikyu Highland, the adventure park! Next time I'd definitely visit this place and take a ride on its wild rollercoaster.

Taking train to Kawaguchi Station will me more interesting because not only getting there faster, we can also enjoy better view along the way. Let alone the comfortable train facility and helpful staff. Definitely a nice way to travel around.

3. KAWAGUCHI LAKE CRUISE

So HERE WE GO! Kawaguchi Lake once again! On my previous visit, I didn't take any cruises trip because I arrived in the evening. Now it's sunny and early, so we decided to take the round cruise trip across Kawaguchi Lake!

Our old-styled boat for the mini cruise.

Now, let the pictures talk for itself...

On the cruise, we can enjoy beautiful scenery of Mount Fuji and Kawaguchi Lake town, breezy wind in a sunny day, and he reflection of sky on the lake. It's very affordable to go on this short trip so I suggest you to try when you visit this place.

4. FUJIYAMA MUSEUM

We "hike" to the top of the hill to visit the Fujiyama Museum area, by using cable car. Here are the pictures from the area...

5. SIGHT-SEEING AROUND THE LAKE

6. LUNCH

We took a lunch in one of Kawaguchi's finest local restaurant - a walking distance from the bus stop. Tried the traditional udon which was so delicious!

7. ITCHIKU KUBOTA ART MUSEUM

Next stop, we went to the famous Itchiku Kubota Art Museum - where the artist showcase his artworks and kimono collection for public. I will share a few photo here only because I'm making one special post about the museum (to be poasted later).

8. DEPARTING HOME

PERSONAL OPINION : IN EVERY DESTINATION WE GO, THERE WILL BE A FAMOUS PLACES AND MUST-VISIT TOURIST ATTRACTION. THE KAWAGUCHI LAKE AREA AND MOUNT FUJI ARE TWO OF THEM. COST-FRIENDLY, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, MANY SPOTS FOR ART AND NATURE ENTHUSIAST. put them on your travel itinerary!

It's been, as always, a delightful day with Tokyo Rail Days! <3
